Abstract
We present a general framework for the explicit construction of resource states for measurement-based quantum information processing. In particular, we show how to obtain resource states of minimal size for complex tasks that are combinations or concatenations of elementary building blocks. We apply these methods to measurement-based quantum error correction using concatenated quantum error correction codes, code switchers, multiple rounds of entanglement purification, quantum repeaters and combinations thereof.
